Meet Our Leaders

Chuck Hurley, J.D.

Chuck Hurley is a licensed attorney who spent 15 years in private practice. He now lobbies for Iowa Family Policy Center Action.

He ran for Legislature for the first time in 1988, in part on a platform of strengthening marriage and repealing no-fault divorce laws. He served for 6 years in the Iowa Legislature, 1991-1996, as Vice-Chair and Chair of the House Judiciary Committee. Governor Branstad appointed Chuck as Vice-Chair of the Iowa Board of Parole in 1997, where he served for a year and a half.

Chuck and his wife, Chris, have been married for 27 years. During their marriage, they have been both foster and adoptive parents.

Danny Carroll

Danny Carroll and his wife Joy have called Grinnell their home since their marriage in 1975 following graduation from college.

Danny’s public service began in 1984 as a member of the Poweshiek County Board of Supervisors. He served in that position for ten years and was then elected to the Iowa House of Representatives in 1994. He held that office through 2006. Danny served at Speaker Pro Tempore during the last four years of his service in the Iowa House.

As the lead sponsor of a 2005 constitutional amendment to protect marriage in Iowa, Danny was targeted for defeat by the wealthy homosexual activist Tim Gill in the 2006 election. Danny’s 2006 race was featured in an article by Josh Green in the March 2007 issue of the Atlantic magazine entitled “They Won’t Know What Hit Them.”

Danny now serves as the Chairman of the Board for IFPC Action, and is a regular speaker at LUV Iowa community events.

Danny Carroll Agrees With Doug Gross

Appearing on WHO Radio with afternoon talk host Steve Deace last Thursday, Iowa Family PAC's Danny Carroll talked about the recent National Journal article about the efforts of liberals in the Republican party to keep Christians from shaping the 2012 Iowa Caucuses. The article featured quotes from Des Moines area attorney Doug Gross, and Danny Carroll.

While Gross and Carroll are almost always on opposite sides of any debate, the article exposed one area of agreement between the two. Read the IFPC Action press release or listen to the Deace In The Afternoon podcast to hear why Danny Carroll agrees with Doug Gross.
